Default rear diff ring and pinion

i have a 92 5.0 HO thunderbird with the stock 8.8 limited slip rear end... i have a ****ty take off and im pretty sure im losing most of my power at the rear diff since its so big.. i've never really mesed with rear diffs other than replacing them completely... i can get the 3.73 ring and pionion set from summit for $170 what else would i need to change it to a 3.73 rear end? I know this may sound like a newbie question but its just that. I'll know i'll need a dial to install it myself... any advice is greatly appreciated

Check the procedure for a proper gears upgrade at http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/5o...5ohtech001.htm you need more than a dial.

just the ring and pinion and an installation kit. i would not reccommend doign it yourself if you dont know what your doing. its one of those things that takes precise measurments and one bit of it being off can blow your whole rear. best to be safer than sorry and do it right the first time.
