my reverse always grinds. i tried puttin it in 1st then reverse(still grinds), 5th then reverse(still grinds). sometimes i t wont start with the car in 1st, and when it does it wants to jump forward or if i start in reverse it wants to jump back. another situation is i pushed down on the clutch and the alumininum quadrant does not move. does this mean my cable is warped?

 

sounds to me that the cable is out of adjustment and it is not releaing the clutch all the way.
