Default 89 foxbody mods

Hey guys im new to the forum.I was never a big mustang guy growing up, i always thought the old shelbys were cool but never thought anything of it. All that changed though when i bought my first car in aguest when i hit 17, its an 89 mclaren and my baby, when ever i accelerate and hear the engine roar well that brought me enough joy to be a mustang fan for life. i'll post pics sometimes. i want to start modding it but i dont know much about cars. it already has after marketexhaust but i want to add some more horses to her.I have 1,500 to put intoher as ofnow. My question is where should i go next? i dont know much about this since its my first car but i can get my dad/ friends to help with the modding.
Sorry for advance if this is in the wrong forum (i know it has a 5.0 liter though =P)
Thanks!

welcome to the forums and sweet ride by the way! gotta post some pictures. first you could start off by getting some gears, then later on down the road a H/C/I swap and suspension etc. the list is super long. i'll let the other guys chime in and explain in better detail. welcome!

my suggestion, research....not just mods but everything about your car use google, post question, read other posts, and buy books.Learn as much about your car as you possibly can. Everything you buy for that car, research it first. you have alot to learn and your are in the right place, so welcome to the forums!

and just to let you know if u add exhaust u will feela difference. i like to put exhaust on my car first. i went with rims, tint, and exhaust first, curb apeal then track times. thats how i went on my current stang.

but with 1500 to spend spend is smart you know.. like don't go out and buy " NOS " octane boost.. i'd say gears, headers, intake, bigger throttle body, and bump your timing

its all about knowing were your car is going to go. do u car about streetablity and are you all motor or what. im going supercharged so i pick 3:73 gears because id have a problem at the track with anything bigger, id run out of motor with big gears.

Well, b4 you buy anything, spend a few hours reading some info about it. There a great sticky called First Mods that lists what you should do. I would buy a set of gears and have them installed (3.73-manual, 4.10-auto). If its auto, id get a shift kit. Then id spend the rest on suspension. Subframes, control arms, springs, shocks etc.
