Default pinging

ok here whut's happening the car runs great in all gear except 4th and 5th in those gears I get pinging above 3500rpms but only at WOT if I back off to 3/4 throttle the pinging stops. what is this caused by and how can I solve it. oh yea I'm using 93 octane. and I havn't checked my timing yet. I'm just trying to understand why its only in 2gears and only at WOT.

your timing is too high. take it down 2 degrees and it should be fine.

I've got brand new MSD wires and CAP and semi new plugs. I really should replace the rotor though lol

Always change the rotor with the cap! Did you set your gap correctly on your plugs? Have you changed the fuel filter lately?
