First of all here is what I have....
24lb Accel Injectors
BBK adjustable FPR w/ gauge (adjusted to 42psi)
Cobra Upper and Lower Intake
BBK Warm Air Intake
70 MM Edlebrock Throttle Body
BBK Equal Length Short Tube Headers
Full 2.5" exhaust No cats
I was running the stock MAF sensor until I was able to get the C&L MAF for 24lb injectors and the motor ran like a champ. This Christmas I got the C&L 76MM 24lb MAF and I put it on and now the motor runs like crap.. It wont hardly Idle, It wont rev past about 3500 RPM, and it backfires like crazy. I made sure that all the connections were right (of course it uses the stock MAF sensor on the C&L body so you can only hook it up one way) I am completly dumbfounded... do I need to jack up the fuel pressure? do I need a bigger fuel pump? I need help, any input is greatly appreciated......

Well now that doesnt make any sense why you would be able to run on 24# injectors with a stock maf on an a9l unless its been tuned. There isnt a chip hanging out the end of it, is there?

where is the ECU located? I thought the same thing myself but it ran like a champ. I asked a local speed shop and they said that you cant exceed the injector rating with a MAF sensor but you can stay under it, it just wont let your injectors run to their full potential.

The ECU should be in the passenger side kick panel, its not that hard to get out. If you see something sticking out the end of the case, its more then likely chipped

^^ what Adder said. The stock ECU will run like crap w/ 24's unless a chip or twEECer, etc. was used. It was probably adjusted and then the C&L (w/ 24# sample tube) messed it up. It would probably work if you got the 19# sample tube.....

wrong...he has the wrong sample tube....what color is the stripe on it . is it blue?

ok so I pulled the computer completly out of the car and found that there is no chip in it i.e superchips, etc. The compter hadthe main harness that connected to it with nothing in between the harness and the computer and on the other end it had apiece of tapeon it covering a circuit board that looked as if you plugged something into it.I did however find that the computer is a reman unit. But it should still be an A9L right? I mean otherwise it wouldnt run? What should the fuel pressure be set at as far as PSI? Are the 24lb Accel injectors worth a flip? It specified them for 87-93 mustangs. ADDER PLEASE Help
