Just a quick question about the explore heads and intake...the year from 94-96 were those all V8's or did some come in a V6? and also when they did come in the V8's is there a quick way to tell the difference between the 2 quickly? thanks for your help and im sorry if this is a repost....I tried searching but couldn't find what I was looking for

 

Are you asking how to tell the difference between a six and eight cylinder engine? Or how to tell the difference between the different years of explorers?

 

I think hes wondering if the explorers only came with a V8, and how he could could tell if it has a V8 from the exterior (markings, or trim stuff)

 

they had standard a 3.8 v6 but u could get a 5.0 v8 as an option

 

not 3.8, it was 4.0, i have one. all 5.0 explorers/mountaineer's are AWD.

 

The explorers are not AWD. They did come with a 4x4 option though.

 

Every 5.0 explorer/mountaineer built since 1995 is AWD. The 4.0's had the 4x4
