Default New build

My 331 is downing so oil about 2 - 2.5 quarts every oil change not good. So I decided its time fora new build. Im getting a 98 explorer motor with 55,000 miles on it from my uncle for $650 complete. Here are my plans for the engine nothing ratical since its a DD. I want to keep the compression ratio at 9:1 so if I add a turbo later I can.

Complete engine rebuiuld kit - Federal Mogul standard bore or maybe a .30 bore with new pistons
Hone and bath the block
Have the pistons cleaned
Balanced and Blueprint the shortblock
Trick Flow Stage 1 Cam

Now for the Heads - GT-40P:

Ported and polished
Either a 3 or 5 angle valve job
New Trick flow spring kit and new valves and seals
Gasket match the intake and exhaust ports
1.6 RR

Now for the Intake:

Port and polish it
gasket match to felpro 1250
increase runner #5 for better flow
Increase TB port to 70mm

This all going to be put together with all new ARP bolts. I rest of my combo is going to be #24 injectors, 70mm TB with 70MM EGR delete plate, 1" intake spacer, Ford Racing Tall VC's, 2 breathers, mini starter, 76mm MAF and Inlet Tube, Mac 1 5/8 headers with locking header bolts, 2.5o/r h-pipe, Dynomax ultra flow mufflers. New timing chain, waterpump, and PS pump.

I hoping for at least 300 rwhp with this combo but we will see. Tell me what you guys think.

The oil consumption problem isn't with the heads you have on your 331 is it? The short block could be just fine and the problem be in the valve guidesor maybe just valve stem seals.

I have always wanted to go back to a 302 bc the 331's dont last as long. Im going to sell my 331 to my friend or part it out. I cant afford to lose my car to fix the heads if thats the problem also I dont think thats the problem anyways I think the oil is seeping past the rings anyways.

But besides that what do you guys think of the new build
