Default What Would Make A Head Gasket Blow?

Well i fixed mine and i am just wondering what would make it go. I mean does it mean something is wrong with that head and that i should get new ones or that one time (before i owned it) it overheated. Well, any help would really do alot for me.

Thanks!!!

Nick

overheating is the main cause... but if you didnt overheat than i dont know.... but im wondering... you did change both head gaskets right? not just that one head right?

Overheating (either recently or even along time ago)
& detonation are the two main causes.

Sometimes they can go for no apparent reason at all.

Uber, super-duper awful!!!!

Lool.... j/k Although, I know head gasket height is used in determinging your comp. ratio, so if one's taller than the other...

I dunno for sure though.

Not using high enough octane gas....

Advancing timing w/out upping octane...
