I just got a 87 lx 5.0 with a mid 70's 302,are all the 5.0 block all the same?

 

no the older models were built stronger if i recall...like 69-72 orsumthing

the 85 and lower dont have roller cams there flat tappet. ive heard the older 302 blocks and the mexican blocks have higher nickel content in the forgings making them alittle stronger

 

all 5.0 heads should interchange besides the boss 302

 

okay so will all 5.0 heads fit the 85 and older motors?

 

whats the best stock head for the 5.0?,my engines carbbed.I was told the wedge heads?

ive never heard of a wedge head for ford. just about all fords 5.0 heads are junk , i guess if i had to pick , besides finding 93 cobra heads, would be the 87 up e7te stock 5.0 h.o heads just prt the heck out of the exhaust ports there the bottle neck
