2 problems
i have 2 problems with my 88 gt. when i boughtthe carthe motor was bad , so i put in a 306 with a b-cam , 1) and i got it running but when i hit the gas it would take forever for it to hit 5 grand, and on stlmustangs they told me that if i did the mass air conv it would fixit 2) now that i switched then ecu and switched the 4 wires around on the ecu i am not getting any fuel ( the fuel pump wont turn on )then i was told to take it back to speed dens and then fix whats wrong but i can not figure out what would make the rpms take so long?!?! so when it starts to warm up (right now it is 23 degress out) i am going to switch it back but i need to know what to do after that , when i put the motor in the timing was set at 16 degress any help will be welcomed!

RE: 2 problems
What wires did you swap? I have an 86 and I got the FMS mass air conversion. The only thing it added was 1 wire to the NEW ecu. Check your schematics in the back of your haynes manual and it will tell you which wire you need to add from the mass air sensor.

RE: 2 problems
the 4 wires coming from the mass air meter, all the sites i have been to say that i had to move like 4 wirse around and soilder the 4 wires from the mass air meter into 4 existing wires or something close to it.. i will post up the site i got it from when i get home to my home pc

Did you pull the spout connector when you set the timing? If not your probably about 6 degrees retarded on base timing, that can make em rev slow.

RE: 2 problems
Well I don't know about the cobs but it could be a classic case of the timing being off. lol When you have a problem like this, or just about any other, the procedure should go something like this:
1 Don't assume anything, ever, verify always.
2 Double check the basics, spark, fuel, timing, etc. as appropriate.
3 Eliminate 1 thing at a time. This is also a biggy causing wrong assumptions about the affect of a change when more that one is done at a time.
This will stop a lot of tail chasing.
Sounds like you have an engine built by someone else several months ago, double check for yourself.
