Default starting problem

Hey guys i picked up my first mustang 5.0 the other day. its a 91. the guy i got it from said it needed a starter so i put one in and noticed the ground cable for the battary was pretty bad looking and so was the cable from the selinoid to the starter. but anyway so i took the old starter outa nd looked at the flywheel and it seemed fine to me. put a new starter in and same thing. just jumps right off and spins. should i replace the cable from selinoid to starter and the seliniod

so ur saying when u start the car the starter continues to spin? Either way I would get new ground cables and make sure ur terminals are in good condition. I had a similar problem that the starter continued to spin. I replaced it with another starter. And remember just because the part is new doesnt mean it can't be deffective. I'm on my 3rd starter already. My second starter took a crap the next day after I installed it. So take the new starter you just bought and see if its good.

Sounds like it's either the abbendix, or the wrong starter, or a bad spot on the flywheel, or an alignment issue.

the negative cable is bad.[:'(]

put a new 1.5 feet ground cable on the ac bracket bolt and youll be fine for life. you can trash the old or leave it.
