are the engines in a thunder bird and a mustang the same and if so does the thunderbird engine have forged pistons?

no they are not, the t-bird is a non-HO , probably has forged pistons though i have no idea

1988 bird, it has a 5.0 that was suppose to have been rebuilt and built up a lil bit about a year ago then about 6months ago the car got totalled and is just sitting there, i bought the motor to go in my mustang and if the pistons are forged then im sprayin but if not then im rebuilding again to go forged.

88 is non mass air though.. what year is your stang?

my stang is a 94, but i am probally putting a 93 computer in it, because ive herd that the sn95 computers dont like cam mods and the tbird has a bigger cam in it. and it may not even be a stock tbird engine though cause it has gt40 heads and intake.

use an A9L computer with the mustang cam.. nice torque curve

i have no idea what the al9 computer is, so where can i get one, and will it work with a marine cam?

it came in 89-92 mustang GT 5 speeds

dont think it came in 87-88's because its mass aired
