Default engine chattering

alright i havent taken my valve covers off yet to check this but i believe my rockers are chattering. but it could also be push rod chatter.. i dont think the valves are floating cuz the motor runs fine but there seems to be a loss of power. the chattering only really happenes when i give it a good amout of gas. and there is a ticking comming from the drivers side head and idle. if its my rockers i can just tighten them down right? if it is pushrod chatter how do i fix this? and is it hard to do? would i need new rockers or rods? if anyone has input it will be greatly appreciated.thank you

remove the upper and lower intake, replace all the hydrualic lifters and reset valve lash.

My 302 did the same thing, and no matter how much I cleaned the lifters or tightened them down, they were LOUD on the driver side head.

you can add some 1.7 roller lifters while your there , like the Cobra has, or you can do all that when the time is right.

If you start on the project , ill give you the intake manifold bolt sequence for upper and lower, as well as a revised valve lash procedure that will have you set in 15 mins[8D]

AODE06, 302 HO's dont have adjustable lash bro. Theyre hydraulic self -adjusting. From the factory there isnt even a way to adjust em. Youd have to get aftermarket rockers.

+1 on replacing the lifters though, it sounds like a couple might be collapsed. It couldnt hurt to put the roller rockers on, but its not neccessary.
