can anyone help me out and give me some details about a methonal system. i herd they work a lot better with boost then nitrous does. can anyone shed some light on this

It's normally for forced induction cars. It's a chemical intercooler.

 

It's for cooling the intake charge of boosted cars, it cools by using the process of evaporation, by injecting alcohol and meth. into the intake. This process also causes an equivelant to using higher octane fuel.

 

methanol is mixed with distilled water and injected into the hot boost air. the methanol acts as an octane booster and the water steams and cools the air. good for 40-50hp on a mildly modded boosted motor

 

THIS INFO IS STRAIGHT FROM SNOW PERFORMANCE


Every Degree of Timing added = 4hp increase
For Every 4pts in Octane increase you can add 2-3 deg of timing or 1-2lb of boost

93 octaneturns into 116 Octane with a 50/50 Water/Methanol Mix

That is a 23 point increase in Octane resulting in 11-17 deg of timing advance or

44 to 68 horsepower increase

This does not act life Nitrous..it does not hit hard...basically it controls detonation and helps a blower car run safer and stronger....
