No. Don't waste your money. I have them and read about many others that have them, and the battery charging problems aren't worth it for almost "0" hp increase.

Some even experience overheating problems, HP gain is minimal.

I'm gonna agree with buzzstang,I think there with the inital price. If your worried about the charging problems don't install the alternator pulley. I got mine for under a hundered.

I can't even remember the brand, either bbk or ford racing, it was eight years ago. But I can guarantee that if you want to run an electric fan and (or) boomer stereo equipment, you will not be happy. And If you're going to leave the stock pulley on the alternator because it won't charge right, and maybe the water pump pulley because it won't cool properly, what's the sense of getting them in the first place. I defy anyone who can tell me they felt an hp difference with the installation of pulleys. I'm not trying to rag, I just think, for the money, you can spend it on a good tune up and be happier.

I was too lazy to f#*@ with them and just went ahead and put on a 140amp alternator. But knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have bothered in the first place.

well your right and wrong....get the amp series from asp..or what i did was use a 140 amp alt put the small pulley on and no charging problems. with the cooling problem your clutch in the fan was most likely had a ton of miles on it...you can use a flex fan $15.and/or water wetter$9/ and a cooler thermostat$10! 8-10 horse power..I have dyno sheets to prove

vfast, I had the first flexalite 5.0 electric, where you had to modify the stock 5.0 shroud to mount the fan. Flex fans suck because you're still driving it off the motor, thus less hp. I installed the new BM fan and at the same time I installed a powermaster 140amp to be done with all the probs.

I have a '93 5.0 and have not had any cooling or charging problems since, but I always had a charging problem with the stock 60amp with pulleys, replacing a battery about once a year. Where we live, you run the head lights, heater, wipers, radio, fan, etc. Why pay mucho bucks for a 140amp alternator when you can run a stock alternator and add other mods that don't force you to pay more for the alternator than you did for the pulleys? (for a lousy hp gain).

Pulleys are fine if you unload your car from a trailer for a weekend race at the 1/4 mile or road race course, and you are built to the hilt to back them up, but for the street, they are a pain in the a$$.
