Default conversion

i just boust a car that was a 4cyl converted to a 5.0 and it burns really rich like when i first crankit up i can rev it and smoke comes out but it smells like a carbed that been flooded but its a EFI. what are some things that i can look for and also would i need to change or redo the computer of the car?

now see i was gonna put in my .02 on this topic, because i just redid head gaskets on my car and at 1st start up had similar problems, and have fixed them but lets try to be a little patient... think we can do that? you posted at 1230am... do you see how few ppl are on?

it idles pretty smooth for the every now and then high rev when i crank it up which i think is the tps but im not sure i just know when i crank it up it it blows out some burnt fuel it seems like and then its fine.(only when it sits for awhile)

Dude, first off, you have issues...I'm sorry you feel hurt if people don't jump right on your questions....probably cus of you anyway.

Now to you problem....with your car. How does it run otherwise? Any codes come up when you got it scanned? (first thing you should do before replacing parts) Could be a number of things..help us narrow them down.

well i took it to autozone to get it scanned and they really didnt take me serious because i had no lights come on(which i dont think were hooked up when it was swapped) my only question was is there any computer mods that has to be dont on the conversion ive tried surfing for it and no luck. right now im waiting on a buddy of mine to swipe the new snap on scanner from his shop

and o ya i was jsut bored lastnight

If there were no codes, my guess would be a leaky injector. Try and check your fuel pressure after you turn it off..it should hold pressure. Is it hard to start? Do you have catalitic converters?
