Default Quieting Down My Interior

I'm installing new carpet in the my Fox, and I'm wondering if installing some sound deadening like DynaMat or FatMat is worth the cost. The stuff is $100 for 100 square feet. I'm not big stereo guy, but would like to quiet down the interior a bit. With open exhaust, and a mildly modified motor, the interior can get pretty loud.

Anybody tried this stuff?

just a suggestion but look on ebay for that stuff. you can get one hell of a deal for that stuff there. and if you're getting carpet and want to put that matting on also, to save some weight (not really much but every little bit helps) you can take off the padded backing

dyno mat works awsome, ive never used it because of exhaust but we ( the stero shop that i work at on the weekends) built a van and used dynomat on the walls, behind the headliner, and then foamed the pannels and ganed around 10 db. so it should keep sound out.

Try Second Skin it's the best bang for the buck it's less expensive yet better then dynomat. I plan on putting it in when I save up enough to redo my interior.

Try this stuff instead of the mats.

You do not have to cut any thing and roll it on, that gets to be a mess and makes your hands hurt after awhile.
No smell and it is so easy to put on.
I have used all the different types of mats out there and IMO this stuff is much better and cheaper.
I have done several cars with this and will not use anything else.

i dyno matted my truck for the road noise and my old mustang 98' because i have a huge system in it. i love dynomat. i used an off brand called bee quiet and it worked just the same and its waaaaaaay cheaper. i put two layers in door. 3 on floor and removed the padding in carpet. look wonderful and sounds so awesome. suuuuch a huge difference and make sure you apply heat after you stick it down. make its permanent. buy a cheap heat gun. also i cut my dynomat into 2" by 2" squares. makes it way easier to apply just more tedious and it looks nicer. PM me if you have any other ?'s
