hi there my dad is building a 1988 notchback on a budget, the proyect has just started he found a 400 ci engine at a junkyard and a ford 9 axle, what kind of transmision will fit and what vehicules have it for ex. a truck? i´m kind of new on big blocks so any advice will help by the way small block are discard he wants big block or nothing

ok first off, tell your dad NOT to get the 400. Its a crappy motor, and performance parts are rare and VERy expensive (relatively speaking). Instead tell him to find a 429/460. The already have swap kits for the 429/460 blocks. At any rate, if he is bound and determined you can use a c-6, and those came in trucks, vans, large family sedans (early/mid 70's).

so youa re talking about the modified cleveland 400 motor right??? I think your only options ar c4 or c6. They both are on tons of trucks, but the trick is getting the right bellhousing. That is going to bethe hardest part.
