5.0L (1979-1995) Mustang Technical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.

Quick question.

Default Quick question.

On my stock 1990 GT, on the mass airflow sensor, there is a screen, would removing it prove any benefit or just leave it alone?

You can take it out if you want to but it won't really help that much but I took my screen out anyway

Yep, leave it in cuz it serves more of a purpose than just protecting the MAF elements.

I would recommend taking it out that way u'll get a little more airflow and as long as ur air filter is doin its job then no debri should get in there. Plus all the aftermarket ones that i've seen don't have screens.I have done this on my 04 GT and my neighbor has done this on is old 93 LX. we have had no problemsso far and my friends with mustangs, camaros, and pickups have done the samething with noproblems.including Yngvar with hisdaily driver truck

+1 on leaving it in. You won't see any noticeable increase and it's there for a reason.
