i have a 95 mustang cobra, i bought the car without a tranny and or a clutch, so i put in the clutch and the tranny, when i got it done the other night it started and ran fine but kept shutting off keep in mind i also installed a bbk x pipe with no cats or o2 sensors, i plugged the sensors up. so im driving down the road and i come to a stop and the car dies .. which it does this quite a bit of times, it will idle fine without shutting offbut for some reason when your shifting through the gears and coming to a stop it almost always shuts offf. one of the times it shut off it would not start .. good battery and starter, currently the car will not run unless you bump start it so these are two seperate problems .. the starting being the most important at this point,,, is there a fuse or sensor that tells when the clutch is engaged? im stumped

 

take it to autozone... im think u got a loose vacumm line... Autozone can plug up a computer and tell u if there is a vacum like

 

There is in fact and clutch engane switch, it tells the computer when the clutch pedal is down so you can then start the engine. if you dont have the pedal down then it wont start
Also you need those 02 sensor really bad, it tells the EEC your air to fuel ratio, and wether itneeds to make the mix rich/lean, so i would put them in there ASAP

 

You removed the 02 sensors and expect it to run well? The computer gets useful information from the 02 sensors that help the car run...

Not to smart of and idea is it? some people ont undetstand sensors and the EEC, works as a complete....without one part the others dont work well-hopefully he gets back online and reads this

ya i know what o2 sensors do .. im plannin on puttin them in there but like i said i need to get it started

 

if you know what they do, you would know that you need them...

and you wonder why it runs like crap

 

I doubt this, but it just might not start without them..............Adder youd know this probably

 

no, itll start... but itll run like crap after it gets out of the 30-60 second startup phase
