Default is this bad?

I just got a new bone stock 5.0 in my stang... it runs strong, im thinking it would run a mid 14 at bandimere (mile high) with 4.10s catless exhaust and a cold air intake... but my problem is when i get on it around 4k rpms the oil pressure drops to around 10psi... is this normal, bad, or....?

10psi of oil pressure, you would hear it. i'm gonna guess your gauge is wrong.

Well for one thing i had edelbrock preformers (1.90 1.60) E303 cam and cobra intake and was running a solid 14.1 on a motor i believe was only running on 7 or maybe less cylinders
and second the car doesnt make any un normal noises just the gauge in the dash drops down when you get on it... i dont have an aftermarket gauge but i think i might be investing in one here soon

stock gauges are about as accurate as a blind person giving directions and pointing which way to go

my motor does it too, I have an autometer oil press gauge, put in a new gauge too, and still does it 2 seasons later, I just run thicker oil, (20w50) and try not to look at the gauge, when I put in my new motor I will take it apart and see whats up inside

what does your oil look like?

I've had my car back for right at 2 weeks now(was suppose to have a 427w stroker motor but that threw a rod though the block because of faultly build)... in the sum total of having it back ive already blown up a tranny (just a 4cylinder) put a new clutch and tranny in... the oil on the dip stick isnt clean but at the same time its not dirty at all and there are no metalic particles on it so i dont thinkink im burning anything up... im thinking i just need to find a gauge and hook it up to see if im actually having an oil pressure problem or just my gauge cluster messing with my mind

x2 on double checking it w/ an accurate gauge. It very well could be a loose connection or faulty sending unit.
