Clutch CABLE SNAPPED!
alright guys i was ridin and went to shift to third wen i heard a loud pop. my clutch pedal moved freely and couldnt get into gears. luckily i wasnt in gear the moment it snapped. now i have a question of how i replace it. i have an aftermarket ford racing clutch so im thinkin thats a little suspect to the reason it snapped. ive heard that this can be common with the Cobra clutches. i kno some of you have replaced a clutch cable. any tips???
I've got the king cobra clutch and I'm soon replacing it with a ceterforce. I've stretched 2 cables and cant keep it in adjustment. It's pretty straight foreward. Since the cable is snaped and has no tension just pull the cable off the clutch fork and then off the quadrant. When installing it's best to have a buddy help you. Have your friend hold the little piece on the end of the cable on the quadrant, then use a prybar to move the clutch fork and put the cable on.
if you're just replacing the cable, its pretty easy.. i got a steeda firewall adj clutch cable and it didnt take me long to put it in.. i had to go from under the car to under the dash a few more times than i wanted but it made a big diff

king cobras suck i cant wait to get rid of mine. i have broke 3 clutch cables in the last summer, and the clutch is so stiff my steering column moves when i press the clutch down. its like the whole firewall moves.
