Default clutch help

ok so i had a post the other day about my clutch chattering. Idk if i mentioned that the car is extremely difficult to shift. Reverse is a pain to get into unless the car is shut off and then put into. a friend of mine who is a very good mechanic told me to check the clutch cable and that the clutch itself may still be good. I have a clutch already but its still in the box. what do you all think? thanks guys

Sounds like your clutch is not disengaging.

When you take off, how high is your clutch pedal when it engages?

Sounds like the cultch is out of adjustment. Try letting the clutch pedal out and pull on the pedal itself with your hand, it should click, sometimes this will adj. it. if the stock plastic quadrand is completly warn out, you may want to get a new aluminumquadrant with adj. cable from summit or jegs. All most all mustangs do that sooner or later.
