245/50/16 is 25.6' tall
235/55/16 is 26' tall

to figure out your tire height width X 2 X . ratio + rim size
for example 275/60/17
275 divided by 25.4 = 10.2 then take 10.2 X 2 X .60 + 17 = 29.8 for tire height and 10.2 width

on my 88 i run 235/55/16 on front and have not clearance issues but the 245 would rub i also running a 16x8 wheel with a different offset then pony wheels
