Default Front struts, please help!!

i just ordered some new front struts for my 87 gt and i was wondering if there is any other kind of way to take them out and putting them back in without having to buy a spring compressor? do they come out in one piece or seperate pieces? same with putting them back in, can they go back in as one piece?

Dude, you don't need a spring compressor to do your struts, they come out in one peice and there are three bolts holding them in.

I just did mine not too long ago, it was easy. I had to remove my caliper and rotor to get at everything though. Theres just a big bolt on top then 2 on the bottom. The hardest part was a few of the bolts were stiff as hell.

You dont have to remove anything but the strut not even the calipers. Two bolts on the bottom, one in the tower. Easy as can be....besides they are toqued like a mother. I had to put my foot a wrench on the nut and push while i pulled the other wrench on the bolt. oooooweeeee that was fun.

i think you might have to put a jack under the a arm for support...

Put a Jack under the A Frame...and those springs won't move. Make sure you mark the top of the stut under the hood so when you replace it, your alignment won't be so bad. With that being said, once everything is in, go and get yourself an alignment.

Iwould recommend some Caster/Camber Plates if your car is lowered at all...I have the Maximum Motorsports CC Plates with Eibach Pro-Kit SPrings, and Tokico Shocks/Struts. It hugs turns like a Porche

Good Luck!
