need help!!!!!!!!

so we got the cam in the timing set and got her started up tonight we ran it at 2000 rpm to break the cam in for 30 minutes but my question is why when I go to rev it is it going so slow like it has no nuts anymore will a tune fix this because I know I have to get it tuned anyway?????????????????????

You may have moved the angle of the cam. Now it is out of timing.

Yeah', basicly. Seeing you asked "what do you mean". That is probably your problem. If you dont recheck your cam angle with one of those dials. You have to be very carefull to put it back in at the exact angle you pulled out the stock one.

yeah, either your angle is off or you put a cam in the motor that is too big for your combo. What cam/motor combo do you have. You're sure you made a good choice on cam???

Are you talking about a flat tappet cam?.....those are the ones that require a "break-in", roller hyd. cams don't.

1. What cam did you install?.....specs are?
2. Did you degree it?....
3. Did you check your spark initial timing?

they probably just installed it and didnt bother turning the motor over twice to see if it stayed lined up after the slack was taken up out of the timing chain....

I love when newbs screw up their motors!
