Default Compression Question

My mustang has an 11:1 compression. My question is how does my non-stroker motor has higher compression that a stroker motor?

There can be many different reasons. Pistons, head gaskets, etc. The compression of the motor has nothing to do with it being a stroker. You can set up a 306 to have14:1 com or a 348 to have 8:1 compression.

Yea, you can set your compression up to whatever you want it to be. For ex... if someone was building a stroker motor that they planned on boosting most would opt for an 8.5:1 comp or lower. If building a NA car most will go for 9.5:1+

Oh. I learn something new every day. The guy I bought mine from said he set it up for nitrous so thats probably why its 11:1 compression.

I would be suspect that it is 11-1 compression

unless the heads have been milled or you have dome pistons
with 0 dish flat top pistons and 58cc heads on 306 will have 10.5 -1 compression

It does have 11:1 compression. My motor has been completely redone with new heads, pistons, bored, etc.

Twisted Wedge heads require a longer pushrod due to the wierd way they
rotated the valves around. Actually I thought they used 6.70 pushords
