Default overheating

Hey guys, what would cause my car to overheat at IDLE? I'm talking about like 270hot. All i know is i put in ALOT of antifreeze and it was fine for awhile, and then while idling it went up quite abit. Im thinking about getting a raditor flush and fill.

I have the stock guage, while normal driving now its completely even, like dead center straight across, isnt this to hot? Before it was like a full line below that.

All i know is shes burning up antifreeze really quick, but i cant see a leak anywhere.

also, i dont think my heatercore is leaking but it could be i guess. My passenger floor isnt wet, but sometimes when i turn my heat on, i will hear a gargling sound.

you will smell antifreeze if the heater core goes out, could be a sticking thermostat, a loose hose, fan not kicking in, if the fans working and you cant find any loose connections i would check the thermostat and the water pump and if both of those are fine then you probably have a blown head gasket.

well the fan is electric and runs whenever the key is in the ignition, i HIGHLY doubt its a blown headgasket considering when its filled with antifreeze, everythings fine. And the water pump went out about 2months ago and i had it replaced at a shop. So, with that being said, i guess i can have the thermostat changed, and have them flush and fill the radiator

ok, i was thinking you were losing fluid, if the thermostat doesnt fix it then i would look at just buying a new radiator. its not very hard to change and flushing it is fine but just not as good as a new radiator.

I hope your not pouring straight antifreeze/coolant in.... Water is what cools the cooling system... coolant keeps it from boiling
