i have everything out but the block. i was wondering what bolts i should use to hold the engine and what the best spot is to put them.

head bolt holes, one in the front on one side, one in the back on the other side

use short bolts rather than long ones...otherwise the leverage may bend them. use at least grade 5

good advice, but head bolts are strong enough that they will not bend, just screw them down all the way so your not stressing the threads. we used head bolts to lift block into honing machines, decking machines, etc and never had one bend. head bolt are strong

yea good advice, i just took my engine out yesterday, and i used a head bolt on the driver rear, and one on the front passenger side, also I secured it to one more bolt hole, don't remember which one, but it was just for safety.
