you can do it yourself some what. have a machine shop clean, hone, and bore your block. order a stoker kit...331 or 347...fullauto can get you a scat kit cheap. plan your setup and get a manual and ask lots of questions. then put it together.

What kind of money am i looking at if I have someone do it. I just don't have the time for all that work this is my daily driver, both my wife an i manage resturants so time is not on our side. Would it be cheaper to do a crate that already set up and build one from that point while still driving my car??

well you can get a machine shop to do it. i think it was like $500 for the shop i went to. im going to be going to college for the ford asset training...so i would be doing this for a living...and i wasnt gonna fork out $500 bucks lol when i could do it myself. the stroker kit is about 1K, block work is about $500 for everything. then it all depends on what other stuff you get to put in it.
Intake manifolds: $400-600
cam: $200-350
heads: $1,300 A MUST!
injectors, TB, headers, exhaust, MAF,
all kinds of stuff!
put it this way you can spend 2K or you can spend 6K on the motor...all depends on how past you want to go.

summit racing & jegs have crate motors...they are good but u can custom build one w/ more power for a little less or the same price. i believe a ford dealership will even build u an engine but dont quote me on that. ford has crate engines also. minium of 3k to as high as 9k

I wish Istill had all my tools and time, i'd do it myself but since my accident in december, my finacial situation is bad real bad. I took a 40,000.00 and turned it into a 4000.00 peice of scrap metal. Got scares on my face metal plate in my leg and screws. I also need a new set instrument panel that works even if its used. most of the gauges are off or not working. The best I could find was ebay for $80.00 the shift boot/console are ripped and broke, again ebay $100 for both. Maybe you know where i can find these small items cheaper?? or hell even free lol
