Default help! acceleration problem

ok my car started acting up the other day and i can't figure out whats wrong with it. When i punch the gas when i'm around like 2500 rpm my engine revs up about 1000 rpms pretty fast, like faster then it normally would, but doesn't accelerate hardly at all, then it drops about 500 rpms and starts accelerating normal. I'm pretty sure it does it in every gear its more noticable in like 4th and 5th though, and the harder i punch the gas the more noticable it is too. Also it doesn't really feel like the clutch is slipping cause it still feels like when i down shift it grabs hard, but i'm not sure. and suggestions?

sounds like the clutch is starting to go out.. thats why it is noiceable more in higher gears then lower.. more load on the engine then.

not that you need any more input on this, but +1 on the clutch.

ya but i just had it out like a month ago and it looked like it still had a bit of life left in it, and it still feels like it grabs hard when you down shift, i'm going to go home and adjust it a bit to make sure its being released completely, could that be causing the problem?
