Anyone know how one can tell if his/her engine has forged rods/pistons/crankshaft besides someone telling you? I want to supercharge my mustang and want to be sure the appropriate parts are forged. Thanks!

 

all mustangs from 89-92 had forged pistons.

 

One way but not 100% but look to see if the oil pan gasket has been changed. Thats one way to look

don't think any stock Stangs came from the factory with a forged crank or rods recently unless maybe the Cobra R models.
if you really want forged, you're going to have to change them out to get them I believe.

 

yes the rods and crank are just plain cast

 

I did not know they had forged pistons - I learn something new every day =)
