Default newbie needs help

1st of all i'am a newbie and i don't post to many threads because i use the search button and i've found just about everything i've been looking for. This is a great site with alot of good info. But i've checked the search button for help with this. My check engine light came on and i got code 67 Transmission Manual Lever Position (MLP) sensor circuit - Transmissions. Where is this located and how do I do about fixing this? The previous owner of the car hacked all the wiring up, and there was a remote starter that never worked which i removed. Do you think that had something to do with it? My car is 89gt 5speed. Any info would help Thank you

yup.to remotely start a manual car, you need to splice into the clutch switch wiring. sounds to me like when you removed the wiring, you left that wire screwed up, or bare.

+1 You have to either connect it back up to the sensor or trick it again like the remote starter did.
