Default Upper Control Arm Bushing...DAMN!!

Started my control arm replacment today...UPR Solid Upper/Lower

I thought it would take a couple of hours...tops! But I bought new Poly Bushings for the Upper Control Arms...and MAN!! I could not get that thing out for NOTHING!!

I sprayed it with WD40...banged it with a hammer...I ended up having to drill it out! What a nightmare! I could not even finish the job...I did one side, I will get the other tomorrow morning...

Any tips to get that bushingout a little easier?

You're talking about the one in the rear housing correct? I bought a tool specifically for doing it. Worked great. Just do the other side like you did the first one. At this point, at least you know it will work.

Stick to the way that worked...Good point Too bad I broke one of my drill bits in the process...O well,I am always looking for anexcuse for new tools

I would have never thought that there was a tool for that...I will have to check that out. Maybe too late...but it will still be nice to know the right way to do it.

I just found the tool...and what do you know, UPR makes one!

You would think that when I was on the phone with them ordering upper control arms and bushings that they may say "Hey, do you need the removal tool?"

I guess they assumed that I knew what I was doing...big mistake huh...LOL!!

O well...lets see how many drill bits it will take to get the other one off

If you use a small handheld torch on the rubber it makes it easier to drill out, thats how I did it, but i also completly removed my rearend when i did my control arms
