The n/a 3000GTs came with 222hp. Ive owned a VR4, i dynoed 248 at the wheels with an intake and exhaust. N/A dyno around 170 at the wheels (DOHC), they made a single cam 3000GT but not in 94 so im not even going to talk about it. Also, base models are slightly lighter than the SL (both naturally aspirated). A naturally aspirated base model with a healthy engine (aka low miles or fresh rebuild), lightened flywheel, aftermarket clutch, no cats, intake, exhaust, solid motor mounts will walk your average 5.0. If he is stock you will win no questions asked, and yeah, call BS on him saying he has 300 hp, unless its a vr4, then he is wrong, 91-93 had 300hp, from 94-99 they had 320 and also got a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed. Making 300 horsepower out of an import isnt the easiest thing in the world, its full of headaches and time but it can be done, a 4g63 is a very easy engine to get power from, asare the 2jz and rb26- the 6g72s arent the best for modding but it can be done. If he has twin turboed the n/a engine, your going to be up against what is about as fast as a new M3... at 6psi. (10:1 compression). Ha, yeah i was hard into japanese muscle im my ealier days, im just beginning to realize the potentential of larger displacement engines.

On an AWD dyno, philly dyno works is one of the closest in my area, Hans at Ground Zero Performance recently aquired one as well, he is in easton PA if anyone cares lol. You actually have both front and back wheels on the dyno at one time and everything else is pretty much the same except your numbers tend to be lower than you expect hah, power train loss = gay.

RE: Would I win?
plus 3000gt's are like tanks they come with a factory roll cage built in behind the interior trim that not to many people know about....they weigh to much...im notexactly sure on the weight because every other site lists themdifferently but a little over 4000thats why the fastest 3000gt that was a VR-4 was only ever in the 10's and that was until like 2 years ago...another world a car that only has 222hp and weigh lies

RE: Would I win?
Theyre in the 9s now.
Only VR4s weigh around 2 tons.
A 2nd gen base model is the lightest (still heavy) but it comes in at about 3200lbs.
If this is a 94 base model, 5spd, he has the fastest n/a production 3000GT.
