i was just wondering how much a custom tune would cost me im thinking about having it done sometime this summer i heard it wasn't that much.

 

For a N/A application expect to spend roughly $400-600. I'm paying about 500. What do you have that would make it necessary? If your car is mostly stock, while it is true that you could free up some hp with a tune, it's not at all worth it. That money is better spent on gears and bolt ons

410 gears
need fuel pump and mass air meter
heads are stock i upgraded my valve springs
im thinking 75mm pro-m mass air meter
and 255 walbro fuel pump

 

I'd bet that your car is running rich. While it may not be fully beneficial right now, if you don't plan on touching the heads or adding any more major motor mods in the nearfuture it probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Restore a little bit of your gas mileage and add a few more ponies. Are you having and driveability issues?

 

well last year when i had the motor in the car i just had the xcam and every thing else was pretty much stock. now i bought the bbk intake with throtle body and i also added the 30lb and i need a 75mm mass air meter and im thinking about the 255 walbro pump. I just got the motor back in the car a few weeks ago waiting 2 install my 410 gears and the fuel pump and the mass air meter and im gona fire her up and see how it runs.

 

i would spend the money on getting a different intake and heads.....maybe even a new cam while your at it. and those injectors are WAY to big. even after heads they will be too big

And I'd save up for some heads at least, before getting a tune. Aluminum is nice, but if you're tight on cash for a while then gt40's would even be a nice improvement over stock. Then get the tune

 

ouch...stock heads and X cam...with oversized injectors...not a good way to run especially untuned.
