Ok that sucked
Well I figured out a few problems on my 88 GT, balancer was bad, silly me I painted the block pretty well and thus had a ****ty ground, also found a vacumn leak and am not satisfied that I have the vacumn done correctly. Did the initial start-up ran for 25 or so minutes, came back next day, corrected the above problems and changed oil and filter and restarted it, it sounded really good, no more shakes, fixing ground helped a bunch too...and then, my new motor made a sound like the worst case of hershey squirts you ever had, I shut it off as fast as I could and investigated thinking maybe I blew a rad hose. Turns out my brand new 10 minute old oil was all over the floor, my brand new K&N oil filter...failed utterly. The side split and the oil ring seal where you rub new oil when changing filters, completely blew. I have never seen this happen and I was a fan of these filters. I hope I didn't hurt the motor, I'll find out tomorrow afternoon when I put more oil and a new filter(anyone want to recommend a brand?)
Anyone heard of this happening before? I mean I know my oil pressure is high now(65 cold), but it isn't that high!
