How much will it caust to paint my 86 Gloss black?

We will be doing it our self.

Ithink at least $1000 for all the materials and paint if you are doing it yourself..

anywhere from $300-infinity and beyond

depends on what type of paint, what brand of paint,what type of gun, the skill of the painter(s), how good the prep work is (black is a BIIAAATCH) etc... etc...

cars i have painted:

primer, sand paper, and paint under $500

the paint itself could cost 200-300 a quart, and your probley gonna need a gallon

If you use cheaper singlepaint , you can get what you need for around 250. Thats primer w/ activator, paint, reducer, activator for paint, and wax and oil remover. This is taking into account you already have necessary supplies like tape, masking paper, sand paper, tack rags, and spray equipment, etc

at oreily the orange im looking at with reducer and everything else, hardner and such with clearcoat will be about 160$. add 30$ for gallon of primer. add little bit from laquer thinner, sandpaper and then thats it. im in the process of painting my car.

since i will be a single stage easy gloss black it would be cheap.

Unless you REALLY know what your doing I do NOTadvise you to paint your carblack for your first paint job. Black requires the body work to be PERFECT, if it is less than perfect the car will look very bad. Go with a lighter color like silver or somthing.
