need to fill my holes in my trunk lid from where the old spoiler mounted. i have like 8 dime size holes in the trunk deck. i was thinking bondo glass or bondo hair, but i havent seen bondo hair in forever. i know im not using reg bondo and i dont have a welder and its raining and i want it plugged up asap

 

the best way is to weld if not possible replace the deck lid

 

neither is an option right now. i spent alot of time fitting it on this lid so not gunna replace it, weld it later if i can but i need a temp fix

 

put masking tape on the inside of the holes and throw bondo over the holes. Thats how I did it on my old corolla and hasnt cracked yet!

 

Ha! You guys crack me up. You need something in there that's metal if you want it too last. My fiberglass one came without any holes, not even the key or shock mounts, but between that and being lazy I didn't put the spoiler on.

You need to weld like washers or something in there, then kitty hair(fine fibergalss filler), body filler, smoothy, primer, paint, done.

 

JBWeld a piece of metal underneath to cover the hole and just smooth it out with bondo on the surface

 

good tip: if you clamp a peice of copper on the underside, you can weld the hole shut becuase it will not weld to the copper. then you can grind it down or do it again or whatever you need.

 

this sounds the best so far. the copper thing too if i had a welder that worked

 

does anyone know if bondo glass is the same as bondo hair??

 

Get a waterproof water cover and cover the car, make hole tru the windscreen so you can see where to drive and drive to the shop and weld it with a piece of metal and smooth it out on top.or just duck tape it from the inside and drive down to the shop, they shold not charge you $20 to weld the hole for you.
