3.55's make a diference but not that much of a differnce. You would be alot happier if u went with 3.73's

man, i was pissed when i found out i had 3.27's in my stang. I thought that i had them weaka*s 2.73's, so in comparison, those 3.55's seemed pretty good at the time. So the 3.73's are the real deal huh?.

well if you have 3.37's now, 3.73 wont make much (if any) difference. id go 3.90 at least. maybe 4.10

Sup guys,

The stag I'm buying has 3.55's and my speedometer reads my milage higher than it should, lol. I'm working on finding out a way to fix that. But here's the real question, what do the gear changes actually do?- the long detailed version would be very appreciated

Thanks guys,

Dejavu

NOT in a turbo car..... 327s are great for a auto turbo, 355 are great for turbo stick

Here's my rule of thumb, and several agree with me:
n/a 5speed - 3.73
n/a auto - 4.10
FI 5speed - 3.55
FI auto - 3.73

My $.02

You need to get a different speedo gear than what's in there now. It's the red 21 tooth gear I believe. Five minute job, it's in the tailhousing of the transmission. Just followthe speedo cable to it. Loosen one bolt, and take the assembly out. Take the clip holding the gear off, slide old gear off, and reverse process for reassembly.

ya no point in going to 3.55's... they basicly suck... unless you like to travel alot in your stang
I agree, after (2) sets of 3.55's, which I was talked into by the shop that installed them. I'm having them install 3.73's next wednesday.

I'm sure I'll be happier with them instead of the 3.55's

True.
Bobby, if you go with a steep gear in a FI car, you will run out of gear before you hit the traps. I have seen sc guys have to shift into 5th before going through the traps. You definetely don't want to have to do that!
