Tremec will be fine. I'd go with a Tremec TKO500 myself. If my Tremec WC T5 ever dies, I'll go back with that.

and AOD will be fine for a mild build, and a "beefed up" AOD will be fine for a more wild build. of course you can go the C4 route, which is cheaper to make stout - and there's always the C6 route but its doubtfull you need something like that.

if your really wanting a manual i dont have any advice for you - other than even though its fun to pop the clutch and roast the tires, a properly built automatic will outperform a manual with even the best of drivers.

You have a few options.

1. G-Force T-5 from www.astroperformance.com
This is a stock T-5 with upgraded internals for 500hp

2. Tremec TKO 600
Nice strong 600hp trans, shifts like stock and similar gearing

3. Tremec T-56 / 6 speed
This is most expensive but gives you the most too.
T-56's come in 400hp version and 600hp "Viper" version.

There are swap kits (basically an offset x-member) and bellhousing
for both the Tremec's and install is fairly straight forward with the swap bell and x-member

Personally I went with the TKO 600 and have been very happy with it.
