1990 gt 5-speed and at 60mph the rpm is at about 2000..is that 3.08 gears??

 

My 3.73s are around 60mph @ 2000rpm, this is in 5th gear right..

 

I believe tire size has something to do with the speed and rpm also.

blkonblk5.0 what type of rims are those, those are sweet looking.

 

why guess? there is a simple way to find out what gears you have.
jack up one wheel so its off the ground, put the tranny in neutral. spin the wheel thats off the ground one full turn and count the number of times the drive shaft spins. the number of times it spins is your gear ratio.

 

i have 3.08s, stock tach reads 2500 at 85... 5th gear... 1st gear tops at 35, 2nd at 60/65(i forget), and third is like 98

 

Does anyone know what the axle codes are for the stock gears?

 

m=2.73 z=3.08 e=3.27

 

Thanks. My axle code on the door tag is E and when I looked it up in the red book it said that it was 3.27's too. I just wanted to make sure I was reading it right.
