Automatic Lights?
Hey does anyone elses headlights (just the headlights not the side markers) stay on all the time regardless if my lights are actually on. Then if i switch my headlights on all the lights turn on and the headlights go brighter. Is there any way to turn this off? I like the look of just the running lights on and not the headlights.
It sounds like you're asking two different questions: 1. How to fix the problem of your headlights being on all the time, and 2. How to run with just the marker lights on. Is this correct? The second question was answered in the previous post. As for your headlights being on all the time, regardless of switch position, it sounds like someone wired them that way...to a non-switched power source. You'll have to use a schematic and trace wires. Maybe someone will chime in with the goods. Good luck.
On further thought, maybe your switch is just shorted to the "on" position.

push the switch on click not all the way down
When i have the switch off or half way then push it all the way the headlights get significantly brighter. Alsmot as if its supposed to do that.
On my last mustang it did this too but only sometimes. I figured maybe it was only supposed to do it at night or something?
Hmm its weird because if it was just shorted to the on position wouldnt the marker lights also be on? and There's a significant difference of brightness between the switch being on and off.

probably drove drunk alot and didnt wanna look stupid for not having lights on
im thinking the bulb is staying lit and just looks like its on. why not just pull the headlight and take a look?
takes maybe 3-4 seconds? by the time u made this thread u could have had it apart

What do you mean by the bulb is staying lit? If i leave my car all day then go turn it on at night right then i turn the key to the on position (whether car is started or not) the headlights turn on. Then when i actually turn the light switch on the rest of the lights come on and the headlights go brighter.
