i wanted one, but after some research id rather a centri... kbs apperantly get hot easy, so if u do say back to back pulls, you can watch the numbers go down, becaue the kb is hot. if im going to spend 3k on a s/c ill just spend 3500 and get a turbo

ya its definitly not what is advertised or what a centrifugal will give you, but for going from 190 to 240 at the wheels with stock heads cam intake and everything on only 6psi im satisfied and making 340lbs of torque at 2500 rpm is what the kb is all about.
Hrmm, yea torque is pretty cool, but Idon't thinkI couldjustify the price of that blower for the 50hp gain. How much torque were you making before the KB on there?

i thought the point of a KB was to MAX out your torque almost instantly in every gear. i dont plan on racinging at 120+ mph. pretty much 0 to 100. i guess if KB isnt the way i might settle with a turbo

Ok first of all the person who had a 50hp increase is running stock heads, cam, intake. The stock heads don't flow at all. Even N/A they can't flow enough air. Its like trying to blow through a straw you can't put that much volume through it so 50hp isn't that bad. Yes a kenne bell does make more torque than a centri. supercharger down low. Mine starts around 2200-2300 so its perfect cause when I launch i'm right in the boost. Even in the upper RPM's you don't loose power you just don't gain more. Yes kenne bells do get hot, mainly because they don't have cooler oil moving through them all the time, I have a cowl hood on my car and it really helps even after driving around all day I can still touch the blower (its hot but not ungodly hot). For down low power you can't beat the kenne bell.

Oh man! it doesn't make as much noise??!??! thats why i was gonna get a kb, damnit![:@]looks like i'm back to vortech.[&o]
they are still pretty damn loud tho.... but if u get hte rite vortech i think it might be lower, when boosting of course

A KB is definitly not a stock intake, but I'm assuming you mean stock lower... There is a guy on here who is getting 340hp and 380tq on stock heads and cam and a GT-40 intakewith a vortech V-2 SQat something like 9psi. Sure I'm comparing 6psi to 9psi, but you figure the KB is making 8 1/3 rwhp per psi (50rwhp gained divided by 6psi)times that by 9 and you get 75. So that would be 265 at the wheel, theoretically, if you could get it to boost that high without having a detonation problem.

I will say for sure that a centri would probably make more horsepower but i love my kb because i like twin screw instant boost and all the torque. and its 6 psi on stock heads and cam has a lot to do with it. I am looking for some good numbers once i do the heads and put 1.7 rockers on there and bump it up to 9. I already cant hook up and have outrun a few cars with higher hp numbers. I wouldnt get so caught up in hp numbers. I would say on 9 psi on a stock engine itd be 275.

heres one on a 95
After watching the video, I'm even less impresed with the KB. It was a nice car and all, but it just wasn't that impressed. I'll stick with my centri.
