Default flexplate problem

i finally got the engine started but now its making a noise that it didnt make at first, it sounds like its coming from the front of the transmission where one of the flexplate weights was rubbing the engine backing plate, i pryed it away a lil and it is still making the noise. the local tranmission shop said to just grind a lil off the weight. does anyone have any suggestions?

Its good to have just so crap doesnt fly up in there. And it does space the trans that much away from the engine. Is it rubbing on the little piece that bolts to the bottom of the bellhousing? Or is it somewhere else?

it seems to be rubbing up by the bottom of the block between the starter and the oil pan. im thinking of cutting that section out and see what happens then.
