Default Thinking about getting a FOX stang...

Hello folks,

I'm thinking about getting a FOX stang to bang out in the new year . Do you guys have any suggestions of years i should be looking at? I have seen that they stopped making the forged pistons in 1993 or 1992(honestly am not sure..lol)? Thanks for the help guys i have been viewing this forum(just joined the other day) for quite a while and it seems to be a great community. I am also torn between an automatic and a manual. I have read that the auto and manual are basically just as good, maybe even better with its consistency. But the manual is simply more fun I have read. I appreciate you even taking the time to reading this guys and I am looking forward to your replies. Thanks

welcome friend, get an 89-92 fox because of the forged pistons. you are right in 93+ they discontinued the use of forged pistons. manuals are fun, i have a manual and i love it. if you like autos, thats ok too because your driving a foxbody in which case they all got *****... welcome to the boards, tell us how it goes.

I appreciate it guys. Yea its going to be my daily driver im which i plan to give good amount of oumph. I'm gona to get some moderate all motor horsepower then most likely ill slap twin turbos on it. I picked up a MM&FF with a good turbo guide in it for all mustangs so that looks like it will be a definite mod. I also want to get some decent handeling mods. For some background info my dad has two 1966 mustangs(coupe and vert) and a 1968(vert). He is a mustang enthusiast and a member of mustang club of america. I never was really interested in mustangs I was atcually bent on getting an Rx-7 or Supra(non fast and furious inspired) but I think itll be more fun seeing those in the rear-view(after A LOT of work of course) . On import forums the stang owners (FOX especially) always gets a bad name, that has stoked my fire for getting one even more. Just to prove 'em wrong. Of course the sound, huge aftermarket, and mean looks of a FOX stang always stood out to me. When i get the car I'm planning on 300 horsepower as my first goal, and then ill go up from there. Really love the forum guys, and I am looking forward to participating in a great community.
