hey does 2800ish reasonable for a v8 swap? including price of engine?

yeah, my mechanic (a mustang guy, has a modded to oblivion '88GT) has a built V8 that he was gonna put into his '88, but changed his mind after locating a 306. he had the motor and crated it up, and can give it to me for around 1800 (not that bad for a built up 5.0 with zero miles in my opinion, then it would cost around a grand for the intstall, if I choose to have him do it.... I just got to discuss it with the rents... (they think it is stock[8D]) cuz I may need a little $$$ from them initially, then pay them back as I get paid...

I could do it myself, but I work too much, so I dont have much free time to work on it alot, plus, I dont know everything with converting the car over from a 6er... there are some things I know how to adapt, others I have no idea how to adapt or even where they are.
