Default Cobra Clone

I have been thinking about building a Cobra clone as soon as I find a cheap enough 87-93 hatchback. Would it be a bad idea as far as losing money? Would it be worth more or less than what I would have spent on the car and parts?

Approximately how much do you think this project would cost buying all new parts? I've been looking threw catalogs making a list of parts and prices, but I wont be done for a while.

Also, would a stock 5.0 Cobra be able to handle <12 PSI from a supercharger? Would it still be as reliable? Or would it be best to do a H/C/I swap first?

I've read the Difference between GT, Cobra, and Cobra R write-up on this forums tech articles, does anyone have any other good links about this subject?

If you do decide on doing the cobra clone, i would suggest to buy the kit from cervinis...they make good quality stuff.
im not sure if 12 psi would be alrite for your motor but i would rather supercharge my car than do a h/c/i. It seems alot easier to install and it would probaly make more power at 12 psi then a h/c/i...just make sureyou do some suspension so u dont spin out

here isthe link for the cobra conversion https://cervinis.com/product.aspx?ca...p;id=1122#9011

So you want to install cobra "EMBLEMS" on a car that isn't a cobra?

I would understand the body kit.

+1 on the cervini kit, comes with wings, rear bumber, side shirts, front fender extensions and grill, I would go 1 step further and get the stalker bumper which has the cobra grill molded in. The engine should handle 12 ponds boost, stock blocks are good for 400-500 horse. You won't get your money back if you decide to sell it, so keep it.

^Thanks. Yeah, I probably will keep it as long as I can. And I will get that kit, after I do everything else. Would the T-5 be able to handle the power, as well? I know the Cobra intake is only good up to about 350HP, so I didn't know if it could handle the SC or not.

^^Well, I guess so.
I can't tell if your serious or not. If not, then I am planning on upgrading everything to Cobra specs, not just the exterior.

upgrading to "cobra spec" isnt exactly a big deal...

you would be beyond cobra spec if you did a decent h/c/i
