I was just wondering if using certain oil is better and makes the engine last longer. How often should i change my oil and which oil is the best to use? Can anyone tell me the best oil and filter to use for my 93 gt and how often to change it? is every 3k miles good enuf or is it better to change it even less miles?

 

AMSOIL OWNS! and use one of thier filters, or just get a K&N from auto zone or advance auto is what i use, i saw

 

full synthetic will lubricate better in most cases. if you dont mind paying six bucks per quart.

 

i just use chevron 10-30... oil is oil, as proven by consumer reports.... i change mine every 5k, 3k is just a waste

 

ive heard a lot of people saying that the dealer says 5k but then again those are new cars

Oil doesn't even begin to break down for a good 10k miles... I change between 3-5, but make sure to check it often on a high mileage car as thay tend to burn a little oil.. Don't want to get low. I use Castrol High mileage 10W/30, and a fram... It is a waste to pay for the K&N.. An air filter is one thing, but the oil filter is a whole other ball game.
