camshaft question?

Default camshaft question?

i pulled the cam shaft out of my 1991 5.0l engine - i was wanting to try and id the camshaft i have in the enigne before i go and by another--the only stamped numbers i see are on the end and they are 10 and on the shaft it self its stamped ze -can anyone help --thanks

with a caliper you can measure a cam lobe on its short side, then its tall side, find the difference and multiply by 1.6 to see what the lift is. that should give you a good idea if its stock or what it could be.

Factory lift is .444/.444 for the 91-93 cam. Part number F1ZE-6259-AA. Mustang specific parts have a Z for the 3rd digit. The E stands for 'engine' in the parts catolog.
